Fear Is the Substance of Things Not Hoped for
The parable of the sower Matthew 13:1-9
(This is the transcript of an audio sermon.)
“A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
Well, I explained the parable of the sower in my book Come My Little Rose, perfectly. The part that we need to point out here is: If a seed is planted very shallow it comes up fast as it has no deep soil but when the sun comes up it is scorched.
The sower went forth to sow. When you do not have an understanding of the Word, Satan comes and steals it. You know thieves steal goodies, and what is the most precious goody in this world? the word of God! Quickly receiving the word with no deepness, will make people offended after a while.
Genesis 1:12 “12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”
And God after creating crops and plants said “whose seed is in itself” everything produces after its kind.
So we know everything produces after itself so if I talk fear the fearsome things will come. Just go to the book of Job and see the proof. Job 3:25 “What I feared has come upon me” ; What other revelation we can take from this principle? That God promises produce after their kind. Hallelujah! Oh, glory to His holy name. See? The seed of everything is in itself and God’s promises cannot produce anything but what God has promised!
Now, we have other revelations too. One of which is fear. Fear is a source of power. A destructive source of power. It was fear that brough all those calamities on Job. Fear has as much power as faith why? Because it is a driving source, it is a powerful source. Why do I say that? Because it is a substance.
Excuse me, I did not understand you. Who says that fear is a substance?
Well, go to the book of Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” If faith is the substance of things hoped for, then fear is the substance of things not hoped for, or fear is the substance of things feared for. Why? Because faith and fear are two opposites. You have God’s faith and the Devil’s fear. You should resist fear just as you resist the devil. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Therefore if fear is not given by God it is given by the devil. it is just that simple.
Now, where is faith? How can I have faith? Where should I look for faith? Can I obtain faith through a person? In a book? In the market? How shall one find faith? Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” On the other hand Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
So according to these two verses, every man is gifted with “the” measure of faith, and faith cometh by hearing and hearing the word of God. Therefore without the word of God, there is no faith. It is impossible to get faith from any source but the word of God. And each man has “the” measure of faith but needs to activate it by the word of God. There is no other way. God said it’s seed was in itself so faith is the seed inside the word of God. The word of God produces faith! Oh I love this. The word of God is the container of faith!
Now about fear, we know fear is darkness and is not given by God. But many things are from the darkness. It doesn’t need rocket science to understand what is from darkness and what is not. God is light and in Him, there is no darkness. What is a disease? Is it darkness or light? Darkness? It is from God? No, it cannot be. Dis+ease is from the darkness just as fear is from the darkness. You should resist the darkness just as you resist the devil. You should deal with it just as you deal with the person of the devil. Now if you “fear” that you get the dis+ease, then you will get it as everything produces after its kind. If you fear going broke, then it produces after its kind. If you fear losing a loved one, then everything produces after its kind. It is what the world calls the mirror effect.
Those who are into positivity and so on understand what I am saying the problem with them is that they use the Bibel principles but take God out of it and instead of the faith principle, call it the mirror effect. Well, honey, you can go around and extract the name of Jesus from biblical principles but you cannot ignore the fact that God said it in Genesis 1 that means 6000 years ago because the first five books of the bible have come 4000 years before Jesus was even born and God is still waiting for you to come and see how you have been deceived by this removing God from his hand-made equations. Everything produces after its kind and the seed of everything is inside itself. Hallelujah! Glory to His holy name.
Let us bow our heads and pray:
Lord, we pray for your lost children who are not able to find their way. You have said in your word, Lord, that the Son Of Man has come to save that which is lost. You have said also, that within your hundred sheep if one of them goes astray; you would leave the ninety-nine; and go to the mountain to look for that one lost little sheep and when you find it, not only you rejoice, but all the host of heaven will leave their service and rejoice over one believer. We know, Lord that is not your will that anyone should go astray. Thank you, Lord, for taking care of your lost sheep…IN JESUS NAME. AMEN and Amen and Amen.
